I have said for years that I should write a book. I think it would be a best-seller that would surely be turned into a movie. Why? Because people being people, we love to see the "dirt" in other people's lives, and believe me...there's a truckload of dirt in my life! The good news, though, is that that dirt has proven to be the place where He has planted new seeds! I have experienced dysfunctional relationships with both my father and my mother, 3 marriages (I lost 1 husband to my like-a-sister best friend!), 2 other years-long relationships, children who have estranged themselves from me, grandchildren I haven't seen for years, at least one great-grandchild I've never seen. I've lost very special friends because of my bad actions and decisions. I've changed residences probably more than 20 times in my life. I've been evicted multiple times. I've been laid-off. I've been fired. I've been financially comfortable; I've been "broke" to the point of sleeping in my car because I had nowhere to go.
None of those things make me proud, and I have been accused of sharing too much...but here is the point of having shared them: when we choose to accept and follow Him - listen, believe, and obey - our past doesn't matter. He is faithful to His word, and He will meet our needs...time after time after time. I can't even begin to tell you the miracles He has worked in my life! It is truly by the grace of God that I have the opportunity to share with you today, and even though I am not yet where I want to be, I know that as long as I do those three things - listen, believe, and obey - I will reach a life that will exceed all that I can imagine!
